“I feel so lucky to have met and worked with Emily. As a life coach who works from home I wanted a space of my own which made me feel energized. Before I met Emily my office was the room that held all the stuff I didn't know what to do with. It was a huge mess. I never could find what I needed and I never enjoyed being in the space.
Emily helped me define what I wanted for this space by asking amazing questions and helped me get clear as to what was really important to me. She took time to understand what my style was and found things for my room that made it a beautiful and workable space.
I now have a bright and cheery space that I love being in. It’s so wonderful to have a place that is just for me and represents who I am as a person.
Working with Emily is amazing. She has a great way of figuring out what is important to you and helping you to create a space that is really intended for you and a place that you love.” - Alana

“Here was my challenge this fall: opening a new business, complete with risking huge sums of money, dealing with contractors, an over controlling landlord, and a tight timeline in order to avoid more months of double rent. On top of that, I had to decorate and furnish my own office, and since my business is psychotherapy, it was important that it felt warm, nourishing, and reflected my personal style. Thank the stars for Emily, who entered this scene and immediately connected with me in this super stressed state!
She knew just how much to take the reins, providing guidance but allowing me to be really involved, which I wanted. She asked me to describe in a couple words my vision for the space, my budget, tastes, and we went from there, deciding to spend a day shopping together. Her support, her expert eye, and her positive energy were all so helpful. Although I have a pretty good eye for things myself, she helped me see how certain items would not work together before I brought them home, figured that out, and had to make another trip to return them. When I got lazy, her gentle I don't think so's would remind me what I already knew and help me be patient to find the right thing, without ever feeling like pressure.
Emily believes that design has an impact on the way you feel and a connection to your soul/purpose. I highly recommend her as someone who brings skill in design, vision from the heart, and commitment to her work.” — Jodie

“When I was first introduced to Emily it was clear that my historical furniture buying strategy was ad hoc, preferring to buy pieces that spoke to me when I saw them, but generally made little sense together. It got to the point where I didn’t really want to entertain in my space because I was slightly embarrassed of the way it looked. At this stage in my life, I felt like having an inviting, comfy, pulled together space would make me feel a sense of “ahhhh” when I walked though the door was very important to me.
Emily worked with me to understand my vision, was super responsive, and a pleasure to work with throughout the project. What I appreciated most of all was her sense of the ENTIRE room - so on the occasion something caught my eye, she’d be able to say that it worked, or didn’t work, for what we were designing toward.
Now I have a living room space that I absolutely love!” — Amanda

“I was quite overwhelmed with the room that needed to be transformed. It had been a child’s bedroom, a teen’s bedroom, an adult returned home bedroom, and a room where things were stored when we couldn’t think of a better place at the moment. It was packed to the eyeballs. It was hard to determine what few things should stay out of the mess. I had a good conceptual idea of how the room should work for me ultimately, but no real grasp of specifics and not a good pathway to get there.
I was particularly worried about color. Since it was to be a workroom/studio, I didn’t want the color of the walls to affect the color of the materials I work with. The one window faces north, and provides a nice clean light to work in, but north light can be cool. I wanted some warmth in the room as well. I wasn’t sure how to balance those issues. A second worry, for me, was how to organize the workspace – and that went along with what should stay in the room or not. Emily provided a design plan including lots of paint chips so we could choose the right color, floorplan options, and pictures of solutions.
Emily made it easy to be as muddled as I was. She was able to discern what I wanted through that muddle, and charted a course for me to get to a better place. She was light-hearted and light-handed, which took away a lot of my angst. And she was understanding and supportive throughout the process.
I would highly recommend getting professional help and hiring Emily. It was worth every nickel to have somebody understand that the room transformation was not just about paint color and furniture. It was about creating a workspace that would move my ambitions to a new place and create a room that supports my creativity. “ — Sandy

“Emily NAILED IT! We are completely in awe. I cannot believe we get to live here! I loved the design boards but the design has exceeded all expectations. The living room in particular feels more elevated than I expected and I absolutely love that - what a great instinct on Emily’s part. With limited living spaces, it’s important to have it all pull together and it’s a great blend of comfort and livability balanced with an elevated look.”
